Theresa Wong’s “She Dances Naked Under Palm Trees” is inspired by the Nina Simone song “Images,” which uses a poem by the Harlem Renaissance writer William Waring Cuney called “No Images.” Sarah Cahill gave the world premiere on March 22, 2019 at Detroit Institute of Arts.
